October 2018 see’s Digital Storm, Bournemouth’s fully integrated web, design and marketing agency, celebrate it’s 15th Birthday.

Digital Storm began in 2003 with 3 friends who had a strong passion and skill set for design, development and business respectively. In the early years Digital Storm focused more on creative design especially packaging design for Wimborne-based Keith Spicer (the UK’s leading suppliers of speciality teas and the iconic Dorset Tea brand).

2 years later, Lesley Simmons (The now, Director and joint business owner) joined the team and a shift towards digital was seen; moving more heavily into email marketing and web development. In 2009, one of their clients, Field International brought the agency for in-house marketing support. This move was negotiated to allow Digital Storm to keep its own identity and continue to work independently with other businesses.

After 5 successful years, a management buy out took place. The new owners, Lesley,Damion Hazael and Paul Andrews wanted a fresh start and moved from Poole back to Bournemouth – the digital hub! The proceeding years saw Digital Storm working with a mix of new and old clients as it reached new levels of success. Lesley said: “With continued growth comes a responsibility to the future – we are bringing in apprentices so they can benefit from our team’s extensive experience and help our clients with fresh ideas.”

As the team continued to grow, another move! This time moving even closer to Bournemouth Square, to a space which better accommodated growth; providing more room for formal meetings as well as a chill out area for staff – game of pool anyone? Over the last 15 years since Digital Storm was established they have worked with over 350 clients in the public, private and third sector.

2018 has continued to see new clients and relationships begin with projects such as; a new yacht brokerage website for Parkstone Bay; a business directory and members community for Dorset Food & Drink; an eCommerce solution for a long term client Forum Jewellers; and creative corporate literature for Gully’s Place, Poole Hospital. Ringwood based Van and Campervan hire company, Call Van Hire, have also started with Digital Storm on a marketing retainer to further grow their business.

After 15 prosperous years, Digital Storm now look forward to achieving new heights of success for their business and their clients in the future.
