On 2nd May, Curtis, Leah and Oli visited Bournemouth University to attend An Introduction to Careers in Media event for Year 9-13 students from colleges all over Dorset. The aim was to give the students an insight into career opportunities in the media industry and the different routes and career paths that could lead them to industry success.
The event was organised by the DCCI’s Young Chamber and Bournemouth University’s School Liaison teams. The Young Chamber programme was created to outline the importance of strong and inspiring career advice and guidance from employers to students.
As a long term Platinum Business Partner of the DCCI, we were excited to take part and to give students some tips on gaining work experience in the design, marketing and communication industries. what skills and experiences are needed to get ahead. The team took part in a Q&A session which gave the students an opportunity to find out what skills and experience are needed to get ahead in media careers.
It was also a great opportunity for the team to catch up with other local companies, including Liz Lean PR and Intergage.
