How fast can you grow?

Like many other businesses, Digital Storm are building our company to be thriving and successful and we are looking at our next phase of growth – but how do we get there? This is a question we often ask ourselves. For this reason, we attended the Growth Accelerator ‘Peak Performance – How fast can you grow?’ seminar on the 6th November at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton.

Even though the venue went against everything Paul believed in – he is a Bournemouth fan so wouldn’t normally go to the Saints stadium – we found the seminar very interesting.

After the opening keynote speaker, Mark Pinnock, who is considered as a serial entrepreneur and extreme mountaineer, we attended the ‘Innovate to Grow’ workshop held by High Performance Development. The interactive session asked what we had learnt from 2014 and what we were planning to do differently in 2015. We discussed what initiatives had worked for the business and which ones didn’t and why. We also reviewed what we thought our clients want us to do differently and how we can tell if we achieved it. The main outcome that the session taught us was that we need to make more free time to talk to our ‘company’ and generate ideas; evaluate these ideas; and then execute them. We all have great ideas, but how often is it that we are too busy doing client work to actually implement them to make our business more successful.

Following the workshop and other speakers, we met and networked with other like-minded business owners and growth experts who have already experienced or are experiencing the successes we are aiming to achieve and the challenges that we are facing.

You often to go to networking events and seminars and sit there thinking ‘how is this relevant to me?’ well this seminar was certainly relevant and made us think how we can implement certain activities and ideas into our business and how we can use these ideas to benefit our clients.
